One of the awesome things our PTA does with our fundraiser money is the Art Literacy program. Once a month, parent volunteers teach every class a lesson about a famous artist, and the students get to create an art project using the techniques of that artist. They get to use a variety of materials throughout the year and earn about artists from all eras.

The chance to create is so beneficial to children, and its importance is ever increasing. Seeing the students' eyes light up when the art cart rolls into the classroom each month is a highlight for teachers and volunteers. Being able to express themselves and learn new things can make a big difference in a child's day. One third-grader said, "It feels good to put the colors on the paper and show my feelings that way."

The time has come for our annual PTA fundraiser!

We only ask for donations two weeks out of the year, in hopes to fund the extra school activities that PTA volunteers plan and fund. 

We are fortunate at Viewmont to have a wide range of volunteers that help in our school. However, we still need a small amount of money to pay for supplies, service vendors, food, and logistical expenses. With your help, we can continue to provide extra fun opportunities for our students to thrive.

Your students are also coming home with a donation envelope that they'll be turning in September 11 and September 17. We'll celebrate the end of the fundraiser with a super hero themed fun run on September 18. It will be at 2 pm on Friday afternoon and parents are welcome to attend.

Our PTA fundraiser begins next week and we’ve been hard at work putting everything together to make it as easy as possible to donate. Donation envelopes will be coming home with your student next week. Feel free to return those with cash or check donations, or you can donate online with the QR code on the envelope.

It's Fundraising time! 📣 Our fundraising link is live and you can donate any time. We will begin sending out our collection envelopes next week for those who prefer to donate cash or checks. Students who turn in their envelopes each time will get a little prize, even if the envelope is returned empty. 👏

This year we have a "Direct Impact" fundraiser where all of the funds donated go directly to the needs of the school; however, there will still be prizes for the class and the grade level that bring in the most donations! 🥳

If we reach our school goal, students will win a dance party in the hallway, AND everyone will get a superhero mask to wear during the fun run on September 18!

We hope you will consider donating so we can make some SUPER fun happen this year! We are so grateful for all the wonderful people in our school community.

Our first PTA meeting of the year will be on August 24 at 2 pm. We will hold our meetings in the library. Small children are welcome to attend but we don’t have childcare and it’s not a totally toddler proof space, so just keep that in mind.

Principal Smith is always in attendance and our teacher representative, Ms. McDonald from 3rd grade. We discuss upcoming events, school updates, and any changes coming down from the district or legislature that could have an effect on our Viewmont community.

All meetings will begin at 2 pm and end promptly at 3 pm so you can be where you need to be at the end of the school day. We’ll also have a Google Meet link if you’d like to listen in: https://meet.google.com/eam-cyjo-vyt
