Mental health days can give you the break you need. A new Utah bill has come out to make a mental health day a valid reason for missing school. If this bill passes, it will help children and teenagers with stress, anxiety, or depression cope with the difficulties they face.

A new Utah bill would allow students to take a "mental health" absence from school without it negatively affecting their attendance record. House Bill 81, proposed by Rep. Mental health conditions have long had a negative stigma, especially among first responders, even though their work experiences may make them more at risk for developing behavioral health conditions. We applaud the Pleasant Grove City Fire Department - PGFD for taking steps to dissolve that stigma and help their firefighters.

Within the fire service, it has often been a stigma not to talk about mental health and to hide issues one is facing away.

The Utah Department of Human Services partnered with Davis Behavioral Health to change a youth detention center into the Farmington Bay Youth Center. This will allow youth to receive the help they need without ever having to go through the justice program and without taking them out of their homes.
