UPDATE... ROAD IS NOW OPEN AGAIN. Thanks for your patience.

P.S.A. North 7th St. Extension is closed between Hiser Rd and Old Church Rd due to a tree falling. Most of it is cleaned up but there is still some limbs hanging over the road. Do to safety concerns it will stay closed until we can get it fully cleaned up tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding!

P.S.A. As we prepare for the winter weather that is expected to hit this afternoon and Friday I wanted to remind everyone of a couple things.

1. First if you don't have to be out in it, don't! But if you do please drive careful and be cautious.

2. Just because you have 4 wheel drive doesn't mean anything when there is ice involved.

3. Plowing and salting roads take time and things always tend to break easier in the cold, please be patient with getting the roads cleared.

4. Snow plows only plow snow to clear the roads, NOT YOUR DRIVEWAY. You are responsible for having your driveway cleared.

5. Snow plows don't usually stop to help cars that are stuck or in the ditches.

6. If you happen to be out and see a Snow drift DO NOT try to drive through it, chances are you will get stuck and then it will take longer to get the road cleared.

7. If you have to go out please take extra drinks, a flashlight, possibly a blanket and maybe some snacks in case you get stranded.

8. If you happen to be out and get behind a Snow plow remember to stay back a good distance in case it needs to stop and or salt being thrown.

Please keep these things in mind over the next few days as we all brace ourselves for the winter weather. Thank you and please stay safe.

P.S.A. Dallas rd is fully open to both lanes and the bridge repair is complete. We still have a few small things left to do, but the road will remain open. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

P.S.A!!! Dallas Rd will be closed at the bridge from 7 am tomorrow October 6th until 12 pm tomorrow to do the finishing touches on the bridge. So that means no thru traffic. Thanks for your patience!

P.S.A! I was just informed that IDOT will be closing the Kimmel Brigde Rd intersection on 127 and will be closed on Monday October 3rd at 6am to Thursday October 6th at 7am. Please seek alternate routes if you use this intersection. Hwy 127 will still be open as will Ava Rd intersection. Days and hours subject to change, project and weather permitted.

Dallas Rd is back open, but the bridge is only open to one lane. There is a stop sign on each side of the bridge. Please use caution. We aren't finished with the project yet, but didn't want to keep it closed until the utilities can be moved. Please be careful and have a good weekend. Thanks again for your patience.

UPDATE ON DALLAS RD.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Dallas Rd bridge will not be opened back up today. We weren't able to get the project completed due to a fiber optic line being too shallow in depth where we were needing to dig and install a footing. We are working with the company of the fiber optic cable to have it moved but this takes time and there is also a shortage of material and they are working on finding some as fast as possible. However Instead of keeping the bridge closed until the utilities can be moved, we are going to setup a one lane bridge crossing. The one lane bridge crossing should be open sometime the middle of next week. Thanks for being patient and for your cooperation. I will let everyone know when we have have the bridge open to one lane.
