THANK YOU JACKSON COUNTY!

Thank you to all those who supported me and got me over the top. To those who didn't, I promise to represent you and serve you equally as those who did and I will work diligently to earn your trust and support. To all those who are eligible to vote but aren't registered, get yourself registered. I'll make you a deal: I promise to be a candidate you'll want to vote for.

We are ALL in this together and I look forward to representing all of Jackson County in my stewardship of the Office of the Jackson County Circuit Clerk.

My opponent Chris Maynor showed character and respect during this election campaign. Each time we met, the cordiality between us was genuine and I wish him all the best, as well as his beautiful family. I tip my hat to him, his military service, and look forward to crossing paths in the future. Thanks Chris.

I thank my beautiful wife for the love and support in this journey to win this office. Marsha is amazing, a consummate professional, a good person with a great heart, one of the most knowledgable attorneys in the business (and I've worked with a host of attorneys for more than a quarter-century), and my motivation to always seek to stay strong, do better, be kinder, and serve willingly.

I thank Cindy Svanda for her endorsement, for her 28 years of service as the Circuit Clerk, and for her friendship. She won seven elections, leading her office nearly three decades, and brought the office into the future through mandated and necessary innovation. Her office and staff are the gold standard for Circuit Clerk offices in southern Illinois. I look forward to returning to my old teammates, being a leader before being a boss, and continuing the legacy of public service Cindy's office has always provided.

I thank AFSCME for their long time support. Through this long journey, my brothers and sisters in green always had my back.

Finally, last but not least by any stretch of the imagination, I want to thank my great friends and fellow Jackson County Democrat candidates and our supporting teammates, as well as Chairman Mike Barone for all of his hard work, Rose Mary Bastien for her support and encouragement, the executive committee, the central precinct committee, and the amazing army of volunteers who helped me on many aspects of the campaign, including (but not limited to) Sharon Harris-Johnson, Dennis Johnson, John Clemons, Judge William Schwartz, my campaign committee Huck and Sam (and Ash and Janice), Barb Mason, Lee Franklin and SIDW, Lisa Huppert, etc., etc., etc. You all know who you are and I look forward to working with you again in the future. We will celebrate soon and then get going on the midterms! Go go go! NO REST UNTIL VICTORY!

If I didn't mention your name, please know you're in my heart. I look forward to seeing you all down the road and around the neighborhood.

Again, thanks so much! Time to get to work!
Christian

The Jackson County, Democratic Central Committee county office candidates Marsha, Amy, and Christian presented Murphysboro Food Pantry with collected non-perishable food items and money from Sunday's Democrat chicken dinner social at Bottom's Up, with each candidate matching funds raised at the social to a total of $500.
It's been a long haul for the candidates this last year and tomorrow is the big day! We decided to end our last day before election by giving back to the community we hope to serve.
Thank you to everyone who has shown support. If you have the means, please donate to the food pantry which impacts more than 600 county households monthly, which is between 1,800 to 2,400 people.
The Murphysboro Food Pantry is an amazing operation, volunteering for it is encouraged and possible, and there's hardly any more an easier way to show love to your fellow citizens.

The Carbondale NAACP's 47th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet was an inspiring event, well attended, and honored to have Illinois House of Representative Speaker of the House Emanuel "Chris" Welch as the Keynote Speaker.

His discussion was poignant, informative, and so inspiring, especially for this present election. There is a need for us all, everyone, to be ALL IN. Speaker Welch's speech on the important of the infinite game, having the mindset for the infinite game, and to strive to make things better and to leave things better than how we found them was moving and cuts right to the purpose for why public service is so important.

Lovely time, great community of people, and an important connection to help all of us bring each of us up to make things better across the board. ALL IN!!!

ROOTS RUN DEEP // My family owned farm property up the river from Grand Tower just west of Neunert but as a kid, I always loved coming down to Grand Tower to look at Tower Rock, catch a Vess cola with Grandpa, and listen to stories from the older men chewing the fat.
My thanks to Tower Rock Fire Department for their hospitality toward myself, Marsha, and Amy at their pancake breakfast last Saturday. It was a great way to start the day and spend an hour or so talking to Chief TC Schaefer and City Clerk Rick Pyatt about their concerns that each of our offices will impact.
It is absolutely gorgeous down that way and it is no wonder the people of Grand Tower love their community and want more from the elected. Salt of the earth folks!

Take Back the Night March๐Ÿ“ข๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒ™

Friday, we marched to raise awareness and take a stand against domestic violence and sexual assault. We were loud and proud, making it clear that we will not stay quite and tolerate these crimes!

The night is often associated with fear, specifically of violence and assault, though these crimes are not limited to the night. Just as night is associated with fear, so is there so much fear involved in sexual assault and domestic violence. The purpose of Take Back the Night is that we would marching together WITHOUT FEAR, empowering the survivor, and taking back the night!
