THURSDAY, 5/28, from 9pm-4am, both directions of E. FM 544 will be down to 1 lane between Maxwell Creek Rd and McCreary Rd. This will be so that the traffic signal between HEB and O'Reilly can be installed.

Drive slowly, safely, and as if Murphy's Law is watching. Always watching...

Thieves. Ugh.

Here at Murphy's Law, we're constantly evolving to defend against the latest and greatest ways thieves try to separate you from your heard-earned bucks. As the summer travel times approach, here's a little nugget of knowledge to avoid becoming a victim to this growing scam.

Check the pump every time, and make sure your session ends before you pull away. If you think something's off, talk to the attendant before you swipe or tap. If you've already paid, notify your bank, and then the local police department.

Stay safe, Murphy!

Happy Mother's Day!

First priority of business - get all the breakfast ingredients out NOW so you're not waking Her Majesty in the morrow. Breaky in Bed is worthless if you're harassing her with silly questions like "how much paprika do I put on the hash browns," and "is this bacon still good?" Trust us.

Second, go ahead and put Momma's chariott in the stables tonight - troublesome storm chances are high tomorrow. According to our bestest pal in the whole wide world Pete Delkus, a level 3/enhanced risk is in place for much of NTX on Mother's Day. Scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening will have the potential for quarter to golf ball size hail and 50-60+ mph winds. Not everyone sees strong storms. That's the risk in the strongest cells.

Drive safe on Mother's Day. Don't wreck her car, or put yourself in a position to call her from a hospital room or jail cell. It never fails that we have a good wreck or arrest people on Mother's Day, and we overhear those AHWK-WAAAARD conversations. Be a good son/ daughter and don't give your mom that heart attack this weekend.

Celebrate the women who gave you life, and as always, Stay Safe, Murphy.

Do not be alarmed. Or do be alarmed; that's up to you. Just don't call us about it. Like, we knooooowww already.

Stay safe, Murphy!

Someone done did a rain dance, and in so doing stepped on a beetle, while sucking on Charms candy walking to their freshly washed car.

That's the only thing we can think of causing yet ANOTHER night of shenanigans. So whomever did this, awesome. Thanks.

For those who heeded our guidance to put Momma's car in the garage, happy wife and all. Good for you. Stay safe, stay weather aware, and keep your alerts handy.

Do I hear a 9:30?

Ex-tend-deeeeeeeeed!
Storm warnings extended until 9pm.

Alright folks, round two!

Until 8:30pm, there is a DANGEROUS STORM ALERT, and a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING. Don't ask us the difference - one means bad, and another means something more or less badder.

Get inside and have a way to get warnings. And tomorrow, maybe clear out your garage so you can fit your favorite car or golf cart in there. And by favorite, we totally suggest bringing in Mom's car, because hers is more important than Dad's no matter how new his is.

Stay safe, Murphy!

EDIT: Tornado Watch extended until, like, forever. Not really, but 5am might as well be forever.
-----

Before you button down for the night, make sure you have a way to receive weather alerts. That Tornado Watch we're under right now lasts until 11pm, and there is very dangerous weather (and a reported tornado) out west. That storm system will possibly hit our part of Collin County around 1030pm.

This is a Watch (weather conditions are favorable for a tornado to occur), but is it NOT a Warning (tornado observed or believed to be occurring). But it's best to be ready:

* Check those flashlights (with good batteries)
* Have some shoes at the ready, since heavy winds and hail tend to lead to broken glass
* Sleep with clothes on (imagine running out of your house after a tornado...)
* Have that inner room on the bottom floor with as many walls between you and the outside identified and cleared out - that's your tornado room.

No need to panic or anything, but this is a great opportunity to remember this is Texas, and our storms can turn real bad real quick.

Stay safe, Murphy!
