🌴🎶 Tacky Tourist Takeover at Mountain Vale Lodge! 🎶🌴

Join us Saturday night as we continue the Tacky Tourist Takeover with live music from Ronnie Whims performing solo from **6:00 PM – 9:00 PM**.

Throw on your loud Hawaiian shirts, oversized sunglasses, and tackiest tourist attire, then settle in with a tropical cocktail and enjoy an evening of great music in Downtown Murphy.

We'll be serving up favorites like our **Strawberry Margarita Slushie**, **Vodka Freeze Slushie**, and other refreshing tiki-inspired drinks all night long.

Congratulations to the 49 North Carolina communities - many of them rural - that have received Main Street America Accreditation status for 2026.

Accreditation is earned based on these communities' 2025 performance in preservation-based economic development and community revitalization through the Main Street Approach.

Town Square & Center Stage Dedication Ceremony on June 11, 2026. Former Downtown Director, Laura Lachance, was instrumental in the project. Her speech gave voice to “third spaces” and how vital they are in thriving communities.

Town Square & Center Stage Dedication was held of June 11, 2026. We are so grateful for the years of hard work, vision, and leadership from Town Council past and present, our Main Street Board past and present, the past Mayor Rick Ramsey, current Mayor Tim Radford, town staff and former Downtown Director, Laura Lachance.

Main Street Committees and other partner organizations: Friends of MainStreet Murphy, Murphy Business Association, Cherokee County Arts Council, Valley River Art Guild, and Chamber of Commerce.
