Congrats to the two recipients of Walker Library's 2026 Information Literacy Curriculum Integration Grants!

Thom Coats will be working with librarian Rachel Kirk to revise an Advanced Selling class (MKT 4850), and Dr. L'Oreal Stephens will partner with librarian Jason Vance to revise the online Audience-Centered Communication class (COMM 2200). Both projects will incorporate library and information literacy skills and concepts into existing MTSU classes.

Walker Library has long housed the digital archive for MTSU Sidelines, and today, in honor of the passing of Dolly Parton, we're going to take a trip down memory lane to her concert at our own Murphy Center nearly 40 years ago.

As we celebrate America 250 today, we wanted to highlight a few pieces of United States history that are housed in our Special Collections on the fourth floor. We hope you’ll stop by some time and experience our collections.

Murfreesboro's International Folk Fest is ongoing this week in and around town. Our Special Collections houses the event's archive as part of the Steve Cates Folk Dance Collection. The collection focuses on the history of the International Folkloric Society through papers, publications, newspapers, scrapbooks, photos, and artifacts. It is also interwoven with the history of the Kittrell 4-H Square Dancers, Rutherford County Square Dancers, and Cripple Creek Cloggers.
