Over the last few weeks, we finished our regional Best Tasting Water Contests in West TN. Congratulations to our Region 8 winner Humboldt Utilities and our Region 11 winner the City of Germantown. All 11 regions will compete in our statewide competition on August 13th at our Business Conference in Gatlinburg.

Happy National Drinking Water Week! We're so fortunate to have such reliable industry professionals who provide safe drinking water to their customers every day. Fun fact about water: On average, humans are made up of around 60% water. Water helps our bodies function. That’s why having clean, fresh water available to drink is so important.

TUEC Hawkins Bass Challenge at Watts Bar in Kingston, TN was held on April 17th. Attendees got quite a show with 31 of the 36 teams weighing in bags of bass for a total weight of 415.46 pounds for the day. Over $4,000.00 in prize money was awarded to anglers! TAUD staff got quite the work out and drenched weighing 139 angry bass. For more information visit fishtaud.com and select “2026 Tournament Results”.

Last Thursday at the Region 1 Meeting, Erwin Utilities was awarded Best Tasting Water in the region. Yesterday at the Region 1 meeting, TAUD staff members received an award from Greene County Mayor Kevin Morrison for our assistance with Hurricane Helene relief efforts. We are humbled by this award and are grateful for the opportunity to assist our utilities every day.
