Jeff is focused on bringing communities together, improving operational efficiency, investing in infrastructure, and planning responsibly for the region's future water supply. We are thrilled to have him work alongside Region 4 Co-Leader Anthony Pelham of Warren County Utility District. Welcome Jeff!

Yesterday, the Duke Julian Memorial TUPAC Golf Tournament was held at Avalon Country Club in Lenoir City. Over 120 golfers braved triple digit heat index to contribute to TUPAC and honor the late and great Duke Julian. A big thank you to the Julian family who led us on to the course. Congratulations to the winners of our two flights Rye Engineering Team 2 and Core & Main. Closest to the pin winners were Bert Gore and Mike Burns. We can’t say enough about the staff at Avalon. Major Hollin and his staff were incredible. We look forward to playing again there next fall. Thanks to all of our golfers, hole sponsors and beverage sponsors. We appreciate you!

Business Conference attendees are in for a special treat this year. Our opening supersession is going to be so much fun. Join us for magician/comedian/entertainer Stephen Bargatze!

Our latest Nateland special comes from none other than Stephen Bargatze. Out in a Minute is a heartfelt and hilariously unpredictable magic special that blends classic illusions, quick-witted crowd work, and deeply personal stories from a lifetime in show business. As Stephen repeatedly promises throughout the night, he'll be "out in a minute," audiences find themselves wishing he'd stay a little longer.

In addition to our work with the Apprenticeship Program; TAUD, Fayetteville Utility District, Fayetteville High School, Lincoln County High School and Riverside Christian Academy in Lincoln County, partnered to coordinate a registered pre-apprenticeship program recognized by the Tennessee Dept. of Labor and Tennessee Office of Apprenticeship. The program introduces high school students to the municipal water treatment and all the careers associated with the water treatment. Students met monthly at the Fayetteville Public Utilities water treatment facility, explored and learned about the membrane water treatment process including the facilities, tools, and equipment used in the process.

Students were mentored by Fayetteville Public Utilities' Chief Facility Operator, Lee Williams and his staff. Students participated in hands-on activities emphasizing safety procedures and equipment, biological sampling, water chemistry, and facility maintenance/repair. Additionally, students participated in a water-related, service-learning project by cleaning trash from the banks of the Elk River that runs through Stone Bridge Memorial Park in Fayetteville. Students had the opportunity to tour the campus of MTSU. Students also completed a National Incident Management certification course through FEMA.

This program is in its third year and has proven to be successful and sustaining!
