Two of Tennessee’s former U.S. senators are coming to MTSU for a conversation about leadership, public service and civic engagement.

Join former U.S. Sens. Lamar Alexander and Bill Frist for “Leadership and Public Service: Past, Present, and Future” on Monday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m. in Tucker Theatre.

Drawing from decades of experience in public service, Alexander and Frist will share lessons from their careers, discuss civic leadership and reflect on the responsibilities we have to the communities we serve. The conversation will also include Alexander’s new memoir, “The Education of a Senator.”

The event is part of MTSU’s True Blue Character Blueprint and provides an opportunity for students and the broader campus community to explore leadership, character and civic responsibility through the experiences of two former Tennessee leaders.

The event is free and open to MTSU students, faculty, staff, alumni and the public.

🚨 NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

The Rutherford County Library System Board of Directors will hold a Special Called Meeting on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the Technology Engagement Center, 306 Minerva Drive, Murfreesboro, TN. The Board will conduct Zoom interviews with applicants for the RCLS Executive Director position.

Meetings are open to the public.
