Today, the League of Women Voters of Murfreesboro/Rutherford County honors Juneteenth. We celebrate the resilience of Black Americans who fought for liberation. While June 19, 1865, marks the historic day enslaved people in Texas finally received word of their freedom, our collective journey toward true equality and racial justice is ongoing.

✊🏽 Celebrate Community & Culture with Us! Come out this Saturday, June 20, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM for the annual free Murfreesboro Juneteenth Festival at the historic Bradley Academy Museum and Cultural Center (415 S. Academy St.). Enjoy live music, local vendors, food trucks, and family activities as we commemorate "Freedom Day" together!

Be sure to stop by the LWV booth to update your voter registration or learn about our nonpartisan voting guides!
