Little overview of the Land Evaluation competition in El Reno. Students learn a lot of different characteristics about the soil and how to manage it. Looking forward to this Fall when we get to start preparing for our district competition and to find out who will be continuing on with this tradition that we have built.

Our team placed 69th out of 102 teams in the FFA division. There were 398 individuals who scored in the FFA division.
The top 3 individuals make up the team score, and their placing is below.

Ayzlee - 79th
Carson - 249th
Grayson - 279th

Our E-M members have another year of experience under their belt and more knowledge to share with our future land judgers! Congratulations to Ayzlee, Carson, Grayson, Cami, and Jase who represented E-M and Nebraska well this week in El Reno! We will travel back home tomorrow to end the trip. Thank you to everyone who has supported us!

It’s been a fun week! Yesterday after practice, kids were able to tour the Oklahoma Memorial and museum. Following that they got to watch the OKC vs Lakers game! Kids had a great time with both experiences. Today consisted of more practices working with NRCS staff and then had some downtime to do a little bit of homework. Finished out the night with dinner and the dance. They are ready to take on the competition tomorrow!

Animal Science classes had a great time touring the Elmwood Meat Locker today! Students got to see the facility and watch the knives in action. Not sure if they enjoyed the sights or the jerky samples the most. Appreciate the staff’s willingness to help educate and provide experiences for our youth!

FFA officers put their educator hats on this morning and ventured over to our elementary school. Officers presented to our 6th graders about FFA opportunities in junior high and high school! They also had some “Ag Olympic” activities for them to start their morning off with some competitive fun!
