A. Comments not on-topic to the particular subject being discussed by the Town;
B. Comments in support of or in opposition to political campaigns o
r ballot measures;
C. Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, national origin, status with regard to public assistance, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation;
E. Defamation of character against a Town employee, official, or resident;
F. Sexual content or links to sexual content;
G. Solicitations of commerce or advertisements;
H. Illegal content or encouragement of illegal activities;
I. Information that may tend to compromise safety or security of the public or public systems;
J. Accusations or implications that a particular individual is guilty of any criminal conduct or immoral activity. Defamatory material will not be permitted. If a person believes that there is a legitimate basis to make a complaint against the Town, any of its employees or any third party, then appropriate alternative means of registering the complaint must be utilized. Town social media sites are not appropriate forums for registering allegations of criminal activity or other accusations against individuals;
K. Content containing personally identifiable information such as Social Security Numbers or Town employee personal email addresses;
L. Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party;
M. Content that the Town Manager or his/her designee determines is not in the Town’s best interest;
N. Content that violates federal, state or local law. The Town also reserves the right to block or otherwise disassociate from users without notice and without explanation; the Town may do so for any of the reasons listed above, or for any other lawful reason in the Town’s sole discretion. Any comments and content posted by non-Town users of this site do not reflect the opinions and positions of the Town of Munster or its employees.
