The Salvation Army across Lake and Porter Counties has been responding to the June 11, 2026, Tornado disasters that have hit throughout the region. Our Emergency Disaster Service Truck was out at Merrillville handing out water and snacks. Due to the massive power outages, homes with fridges are experiencing food spoilage quickly. We are out there providing water, sandwiches and bread to individuals and families in need of meals.

The Salvation Army will be attending any calls that come into our offices regarding people who are estranged from their homes, as many individuals and families may need to find housing options and temporary housing options. Please reach out to your nearest Salvation Army so we can better help you.
