Let’s Talk About Proposed Property Tax Changes 📢

Many of you have reached out with questions about the proposed changes to Indiana’s property tax system and what it could mean for communities like Munster. We hear you and we want to make sure you’re informed.

What’s Being Proposed?
Lawmakers are discussing changes that could limit how much local governments collect from property taxes, which fund essential services like police, fire, public works, parks, and more.

What Does This Mean for Munster?
If these changes move forward, it could significantly reduce the revenue our Town relies on to maintain services and infrastructure. Like all municipalities, we depend on property taxes to provide the quality of life Munster residents expect and deserve.

We’re Paying Attention
Town leadership is closely monitoring the proposals and advocating for fair solutions that protect taxpayers and maintain the health of our community. Any decisions at the state level could impact how we plan for the future; from street repairs to emergency response times.

Stay Engaged
We encourage you to stay informed and share your thoughts with state legislators. Your voice matters!

We’ll continue to provide updates as we learn more. Thank you for being engaged and invested in the future of Munster.

I encourage you to review the video from AIM Indiana.

*** JANUARY 2025 PAPER BILLS WILL ARRIVE IN YOUR MAILBOX LATER THAN NORMAL***
January's paper bills will be mailed later than usual. Typically, paper bills are sent on the last day of the month prior to their due date, but as a result of the way the holidays fall, they will be mailed on January 3rd.

As a result, you may not receive your paper bill until January 6th or later. Please keep this slight delay in mind when planning your payments.

You can always view your invoice online at www.munster.org

*** JANUARY 2025 DUE DATE ***
Utility bills are due on Monday, January 20, 2025.
January 20th is not observed as a municipal holiday by the Town of Munster.
