Good morning. We’ve received several calls about the Coast Guard Helicopter in our area. The Coast Guard is actively administering training scenarios out on the bay.

As the storm has calmed a bit we are asking everyone to please stay home and not venture out on foot or vehicle. The County and City plow trucks need space to remove the snow safely. Again please remain indoors. If you have an emergency please call 911.

**UPDATE**

As the weather continues, the Alger County Sheriff's Office would like to remind residents to remain home if possible and only travel for emergencies. There are several reports of trees and power lines down. Crews and emergency responders are working as fast as they can to clear any obstacles.

In the event you have an emergency, calling 911 is always the fastest way to get help started to you. If you are unable to call, you are also able to text 911. For all non-emergencies you can contact Alger County Central Dispatch at (906) 387-7030.

Per the Alger County Road Commission, they are currently working as fast as they can to clear side and secondary roads. All reports of downed trees and powerlines are being turned over to the appropriate responders.

In the event you have a power outage and are on at home oxygen, or if you know of someone that is, notify Alger County Central Dispatch. There is a plan in place to accommodate if needed.

Please stay indoors and only travel if absolutely necessary!

Due to current weather conditions, including snow, low visibility, and poor road quality, ALTRAN will be operating Essential Rides Only at this time.

This temporary adjustment is being made to help ensure the safety of our drivers and members of the community.

What this means:
• Priority will be given to work-related and medical rides
• Non-essential trips may be delayed, rescheduled, or canceled
• Riders with scheduled trips should be prepared for possible delays

We will continue to monitor conditions closely and return to regular service as soon as it is safe to do so.
