This week, CPR instructors from Munhall Ambulance had the opportunity to spend time with the amazing members of Girl Scout Troop 52469, teaching them the fundamentals of CPR and First Aid. It was a great experience working with such an engaged and enthusiastic group. They listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and practiced the skills that can truly make a difference in an emergency.

Learning CPR is one of the most important life-saving skills a person can have. In the event of sudden cardiac arrest, immediate action by a bystander can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival. Emergency responders do everything possible when they arrive, but those first few minutes before help gets there are critical. When members of the community know how to recognize an emergency, start CPR, and call for help, lives can be saved.

Programs like this help build a stronger and safer community. By teaching young people these skills, we are empowering the next generation to step up and help when someone is in need. The confidence to act, combined with the knowledge of what to do, can make a massive difference for families, neighbors, and friends right here in Munhall and Homestead.

We are incredibly proud of Girl Scout Troop 52469 for their enthusiasm and willingness to learn these important skills. Thank you for welcoming us and for taking the first steps toward becoming lifesavers in your community.

If your group, school, or organization is interested in CPR or First Aid training, Munhall Ambulance is proud to offer community training programs.

❄️ Winter Safety Notice ❄️
Help Keep Our Community & First Responders Safe.

With the potential snow and icy conditions this weekend, we ask residents to help keep our community safe by clearing snow and ice from sidewalks, steps, and driveways whenever possible.

Why it matters:
Clear walkways help prevent slips and falls and allow first responders quick, safe access during emergencies.

Neighbors helping neighbors:
If you’re able, please check on elderly or disabled neighbors and offer help with snow or ice removal. Small actions make a big difference in keeping everyone safe during winter weather.

Thank you for looking out for one another and supporting those who serve our community.

Cold Weather Advisory – Munhall Ambulance

Please be cautious and look out for fellow community members during this period of cold weather. Prolonged exposure to temperatures between 10°F and 20°F can lead to frostbite and hypothermia, especially for children, older adults, and individuals with medical conditions.

Please take precautions:
• Limit time outdoors
• Dress in warm layers and cover exposed skin
• Check on neighbors and loved ones
• Bring pets indoors

Call 911 immediately for any cold-related medical emergency.

Stay warm. Stay safe.

🎅 Bring your holiday spirit, smiles, and cameras help spread some festive cheer. 🎄✨ How cool is this - Santa is coming to our town.

Our 25+ year tradition continues. This coming Saturday December 20th we will be bringing Santa around. Pictured in the map are the areas we are doing in order. We will be posting updates throughout the day as to when each zone is ending and starting but are also bringing back our Santa tracker to see our exact whereabouts throughout the day. We will be starting at 9:00 am in Zone 1. If we don’t cover everything Saturday we will hopefully be able to coordinate with Santa for Sunday to finish. Follow our page for updates.

Medic 633 getting ready for the 2025 Steel Valley Holiday Parade!

What an exciting day for the entire Steel Valley. It may be cold out there, but we’ve got plenty of candy for the kids and can’t wait to see everyone along the parade route.

Next year, Munhall Area Prehospital Services will celebrate an incredible milestone in our history. Established in 1996, we answered our very first emergency call nearly three decades ago beginning a mission rooted in compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to those we serve.

In 2026, we will proudly mark 30 years of continuous service to our communities and residents. Over that time, our crews have responded to more than 150,000 emergency calls, each one representing a moment when someone in our community needed help, reassurance, or lifesaving care. Every response has strengthened our purpose and deepened our connection to the people who rely on us.

Throughout 2026, we look forward to honoring this remarkable achievement, reflecting on how far we’ve come, and celebrating the growth, dedication, and resilience that have defined our organization since day one.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our staff, past and present for their selfless service, professionalism, and commitment to our community members. This milestone belongs to every EMT, paramedic, dispatcher, administrator, volunteer, partner agency, and supporter who has contributed to our mission over the years.

Appreciation for Munhall EMS Team Members Joe and Bob “Tippy”

Dear EMS Manager (Rick),
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for two of your amazing team members, Joe and Bob “Tippy”, who transported me in a medical emergency.

That day, I was with my 16-year-old daughter for her 30th radiation treatment, when I suddenly began experiencing severe chest tightness, dizziness, and lightheadedness.

When Munhall Ambulance arrived, I was extremely nervous. It was my first time ever riding in an ambulance, and I was frightened for both myself and my daughter. Joe stayed by my side the entire time, reassuring me that I was safe in their hands. His kindness, calm presence, and compassion truly stood out. He listened as I shared my fears, my story, and even my hope to make it to the next day to see my daughter ring the gong for completing her final (31st) radiation treatment.

Joe offered words of encouragement and comfort that helped me stay calm through one of the scariest moments of my life. Tippy, from the front, made sure my daughter was doing okay and kept checking on both of us throughout the ride. Together, they made me feel genuinely cared for not just as a patient, but as a person and a mother.

I am deeply thankful for their professionalism, empathy, and the humanity they brought to that moment. They are truly an asset to your department. Please extend my appreciation to both of them. I will never forget their kindness during my first (and hopefully last) ambulance ride.

With sincere gratitude.

Today, Crew Chief Marriott and Paramedic Teisher had the pleasure of visiting Propel School in Homestead to talk with students about public safety, when to call 911, and how Munhall Ambulance can help in emergencies.

The students were fantastic—engaged, curious, and full of great questions! They even braved the cold for a tour of Medic 634.

A big thank you to all the students and teachers at Propel for the warm welcome and the opportunity to share what we do 24/7.

Remember if you have an emergency don't hesitate to call 911 for help.
