Our halls were filled with Homecoming spirit today! 🎉🏈📣

We were so excited to welcome the Munford High School football players and cheerleaders to Munford Elementary! They greeted our students, shared smiles, gave out high-fives, and helped spread some Lion Pride and Homecoming cheer! 🦁❤️

Thank you to our MHS football players and cheerleaders for taking the time to make our MES students feel special! We love seeing our Lions supporting Lions! ❤️🤍

🥔🎉 ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS! 🎉🥔

A BIG congratulations to Mrs. Smith’s class for being the FIRST class at MES to complete their Mr. Potato Head for great attendance! 🏆

Every day students are at school and ready to learn matters, and Mrs. Smith’s class has done an awesome job showing up and making those days count!

Now that our first Mr. Potato Head is complete, the competition is officially ON! 👀🥔

🦁💉 Health Hero Flu Vaccine Clinic 💉🦁

Parents & Guardians,

Consent forms will be sent home this week for our annual Health Hero Flu Vaccine Clinic, which will take place on:

📅 Wednesday, October 7, 2026
🎒 Eligible Students: Kindergarten–5th Grade

⚠️ Important: Students with PEEHIP insurance are not eligible for this flu clinic.

If you would like your child to receive a flu vaccine at school, please complete the consent form and return it to your child’s teacher.

The MHS Homecoming Game is Friday, September 11, 2026, which means it’s time to show our Munford Lion spirit! 🦁❤️🤍

🎨 FOOTBALL FACE PAINT OR TATTOO
Students can bring $1 to P.E. to get their face painted or a fun face tattoo!

💵 Cost: $1
📅 FRIDAYS ONLY during football season when there is a home game
📍 Students should bring their $1 to P.E.

If your child does not wish to participate, please do not send in money.

🛒 MUNFORD RECREATION SPIRIT CART 🛒

The Munford Recreation Department will also be visiting MES on FRIDAY morning with a Spirit Cart featuring fun Munford spirit items for students to purchase! 🦁🏈

If you would like your child to purchase an item from the Spirit Cart:

💵 Please send cash in an envelope.
✏️ Clearly label the envelope with your child’s name and the item(s) they are allowed to purchase.
💰 Exact change, please!

🥔 ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE: Our Class is All That and a Bag of Chips! 🥔

We are so excited to introduce our new school-wide attendance incentive!

Here’s how it works: When a class has full daily attendance, they earn a piece for their class Mr. Potato Head! Once a class completes their Potato Head by collecting all 13 pieces, every student in that class earns a bag of potato chips—because they’ve proven they are "all that and a bag of chips!" 🎉

✨ How parents can help:

Ensure your child arrives on time every school day whenever they are healthy.

Schedule non-urgent appointments outside of school hours when possible.

Every day counts, and every piece gets us closer to a delicious reward. Thank you for partnering with us to build great daily attendance habits! 🥔🏆

📣 MES LIONS — A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS! 🦁❤️

We have several important reminders for our MES families:

🎨 FACE PAINTING — HOME GAMES ONLY!
We will not have face painting available at MES tomorrow.

🇺🇸 LABOR DAY — NO SCHOOL
School will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, for Labor Day.

📚 PROGRESS REPORTS
Progress Reports will be sent home on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Please be sure to check your child’s backpack!

🍦 ICE CREAM SALES BEGIN SEPTEMBER 21!
Students may begin purchasing ice cream from the MES Cafeteria at lunch on Monday, September 21. Ice cream is $1.00 each, and money must be added to your child’s lunch account.
