Today, we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedoms we have every day.

From all of us at the Munford Fire Department, we ask everyone to take a moment today to reflect, remember, and never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Have a safe Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

It’s National Police Week, so we guess it’s time to say something nice about Munford Police Department.

In all seriousness, we give these guys a hard time constantly, but they show up every day and deal with things most people could never imagine. From wrecks and domestics to bad days, long nights, and everything in between, they’re there before most people even know something happened.

Now… would we ever admit they have a harder job than us? Absolutely not. They sit in air conditioning, drink enough caffeine to stop a horse, and somehow still need backup for a loose chihuahua.

But when things get ugly, dangerous, or chaotic, there’s nobody we’d rather stand beside.

We appreciate everything y’all do for this city and for us. Even if you do write entirely too many traffic tickets.

Stay safe this week, boys.

🚔🔥 Happy International Firefighters Day! 🔥🚒

From all of us at Munford Police Department — we’d like to give a big shoutout to the Munford Fire Fighters!

Thanks for always being ready to respond after your nap, your meal, and your second meal.

We truly admire the way y’all can go from recliner to hero in under 30 seconds. That’s elite.

While we’re out here chasing bad guys, writing reports, and dodging paperwork… y’all are out perfecting your cooking skills and grocery shopping in uniform like celebrities.

All jokes aside — we wouldn’t trade you guys for anything. Somebody’s gotta look good while we do all the work.

Stay safe, brothers. Try not to pull a hamstring running out to wash the trucks today.

Severe weather is expected in our area tonight and storms may continue late into the evening. Please stay weather aware and have a plan in place. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive alerts like weather apps, NOAA weather radios, and local media are all good options. Do not rely on outdoor warning sirens. Those are designed to alert people who are outside, and you may not hear them indoors. Take a few minutes now to review your safe place and be ready to act quickly if warnings are issued. Stay safe and keep an eye on the weather as conditions develop.

Would anyone vandalize a fire station? Of course not, so why are our community bathrooms being treated this way? If you saw anything or have info, please report it to Munford Police Department.

We hate having to share this, but this is the reality of what’s been happening in our public park bathrooms lately.

This goes beyond just a mess. This is vandalism. Damage like this isn’t funny, and it’s not harmless. It creates real costs for the city and takes valuable time away from our Parks & Recreation staff who work hard to keep these spaces clean and accessible for everyone.

Our parks are meant to be safe, welcoming places for the entire community. Seeing them intentionally damaged is disappointing and unacceptable.

We’re asking for your help. Please respect these shared spaces. If you see vandalism, report it. During the week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, please call Munford Parks and Recreation at 901-837-5965. After hours, please report it to the Munford Police Department by calling Tipton County Dispatch at (901) 475-4300.

Let’s work together to take pride in our community and keep our parks in good condition for everyone.

Regarding the controlled burn at 13109 Highway 51:

Yesterday at approximately 10:20 a.m., the controlled burn at this location ignited several tires that were buried within a wood pile. Fire crews from Munford and Atoka responded promptly and extinguished that portion of the fire. The remaining wood pile continues to burn as part of the cleanup efforts at the property. The burn is being conducted under specific parameters. After the fire extended beyond its intended area yesterday, we have been working closely with the property owner to ensure the remaining vegetation is burned down as safely and efficiently as possible.

We appreciate your continued patience as this situation is resolved.
