Temporary Water Supply Interruption: June 24-25, 2026 đź’§

Starting at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, June 24 and continuing through Thursday, June 25, the Village of Mundelein will experience a temporary interruption in its Lake Michigan water supply. This is due to scheduled maintenance by the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency (CLCJAWA), which includes work on a blow-off hydrant assembly along the transmission main.

During this period, the Village will supplement the water supply with well water. All water provided will continue to meet Illinois EPA drinking water standards. Some residents may notice slight changes in taste or odor. The interruption is anticipated to last approximately 30 hours.

As a precaution, residents are asked to avoid using lawn irrigation systems.

The Village will share an update on its website and social media channels once normal operation resumes.

We would like to recognize several of our firefighter paramedics who were honored for their high levels of patient care and professionalism by the Northwestern Lake Forest EMS system.

On October 29, 2025, FF/PM’s Jacob Smith and Mike Akers responded with their counterparts from Countryside Fire Protection District for a patient who sustained two penetrating chest wounds. The patient developed a Tension Pneumothorax and required a critical and immediate life saving needle decompression procedure. The procedure resulted in immediate patient improvement and the patient was later discharged from the hospital with no deficits.

FF/PM’s Smith and Akers were awarded the better together award along with their Countryside counterparts which highlights the importance of collaboration among EMS partners to provide high quality pre hospital patient care.

On July 16, 2025, Battalion Chief Sashko, Lt. LaForme along with FF/PM’s Akers, Crispe, Gaunky, Kornfeind, and Marchioni responded for a patient in sudden cardiac arrest. The crew provided excellent resuscitative care which resulted in the patient achieving ROSC, the return of spontaneous circulation in the field. The patient went on to make a full neurological recovery.

We are extremely proud of our members dedication to providing positive patient outcomes.

This past week our three duty shifts were treated to an act of kindness and generosity from the folks at Tina G’s! The duty shifts were treated to main courses of Lasagna, Chicken Parmigiana, and Bow Tie Asiago with grilled chicken for dinner. The food was delicious and we all very much appreciate the kindness, generosity, and support that Tina G’s has provided us over the years. Thank you all so very much!
