We gottta share this one….

Had someone reach out stating they were a 1099 from their job and no taxes were withheld and when they went to file (single) (no dependents) they owed over 4k!! 😮

We looked over their return and did a second look and BOOM they only have a liability of $1027.

Why? Because we know deductions the everyday person might not know. A 1099 is a contracted individual.. that means if they worked at a home office they can claim a portion of their home expenses. Those pens. Paper, and supplies? Written off.
