Get ready for a fabulous $5 Bag Sale at the Friends of Muncie Public Library! This will be the final planned sale for 2026 as the Friends Building will soon undergo renovations. (But your 2026 membership will be extended through all of 2027.) Thursday & Friday, June 25 & 26 (6-8 pm) are for Friends members only and you can join at the door to attend the sales. Saturday, June 27 (9 am-2 pm) and Sunday, June 28 (1-4 pm) are public sales. Everyone is welcome. Nearly all items are $5 per bag and if you buy 5 bags, you will get a free Friends t-shirt!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our Pop-Up book sale on Saturday that coincided with the Muncie Arts and Culture Council Art Tour. Our building is the site of the beautiful "Five Dots" mural by artist Nicole Ponsler. Our next book sales will be June 25-June 28 and we will have lots of details to share soon! But here is a hint--$5 BAG SALES!

We had a great time at the Annual Meeting at Kennedy Library. The extreme cold and snow didn't stop attendees from showing up to learn about our organization, become members (or renew memberships), and shop the special pop-up sale.

Everything is set up and ready at Kennedy Library for the 5:45 pm Annual Meeting and 6 pm Pop-Up Book Sale tonight (Wed. Jan. 14). Everyone is welcome and all items are 50 cents each-even dvds and games for wii and xbox!

The Friends of Muncie Public Library showed off an exclusive MPL 150th Anniversary sweatshirt at their Annual Meeting back in January of 2025 with the promise to give it away at the end of the year. They accepted entries for the giveaway at all book sales throughout the year and (drumroll please) drew the name of the winner at the recent Pre-Holiday sales! Congratulations to Trisha Keesling who was thrilled to win this one-of-a-kind sweatshirt! The next Friends of MPL Annual Meeting is coming up again on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Kennedy Library. More details will be posted soon, but make plans to attend because it's a great way to find out more about the Friends and to get the inside scoop on whatever they might be planning next!

MPL Information Specialist Kayls put together the cutest display at Maring-Hunt Library for the upcoming Friends Pre-Holiday Book Sales. Check out the fall colors and the crocheted leaves and acorns! As always, the Pre-Holiday sales give shoppers the chance to gobble up great deals on a huge variety of gently used books, DVDs, CDs, and vinyl records. It's a great way to shop for gifts and to support the Friends, who then support MPL programs and events! Everyone wins!
