Earlier this morning at 8:26 a.m., we were dispatched to a reported chimney fire on Reagan Flatts Road. Shortly thereafter, we were advised that the fire had extended into the structure. Unfortunately, prior to units arriving on scene, the residence became fully engulfed in smoke and fire. Despite our best efforts, the home was deemed a total loss. All occupants were safely accounted for; however, they also lost all of their personal belongings.

We were assisted with manpower and water supply by the following agencies:

Hogansburg–Akwesasne Fire Department

Fort Covington Fire & EMS

Helena Fire Department

Moira Fire Department

Brushton Fire Department

Dickinson Fire Department

Westville Fire Department

Franklin County Fire Police

Franklin County Deputy Coordinators

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the individuals who stopped by with coffee for our members working on scene. This small but thoughtful gesture made a big impact and was greatly appreciated by our personnel.

It is with great sadness that the Malone Callfiremen share the passing of Past Chief Franklin Fisher — Malone Village Firefighter and a devoted 62 1/2 year member of our department.

Frank was the kind of man whose presence could change a room the moment he walked in. He had a smile that made you smile back, a kindness that made everyone feel welcome, and a genuine warmth that touched generations of firefighters and community members alike.

Frank wasn’t just a dedicated firefighter — he was a truly good man. Sweet, humble, and always ready with a friendly word, he represented the very best of what it means to serve others.

Frank’s impact on this department and our community will be felt for generations. We ask that you keep his family — especially his wife, Dawn, his children, and all who loved him — in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Chief. Thank you for everything, we’ll take it from here.
