Moville Fire Rescue

Moville Fire Rescue Moville Fire & Rescue is a 100% all volunteer organization. We strive to serve the public in a professional manner while ensuring everyone goes home safe.

The Moville Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department is composed of up to 30 members. Our first due response area is comprised of 92 square miles. We also provide mutual aid to 13 other departments within Woodbury County. We provide a 24/7 service to the members of our Community and to those that travel through our district. In order to respond members carry pagers and are alerted to an emergency from the

County 911 call center. We responds to an average of 45 calls per year including; structure fires, vehicle fires, wild land fires, vehicle rescue, ag rescue and more. In order for our members to have the knowledge and skills to respond to a wide variety of calls in a professional manner we offer in house training on the third Monday of each month. There are also several fire schools within the State that offer excellent classes for our members.

A grease fire starts in your kitchen.
What’s your first move?

Remember: Never pour water on burning oil or grease—it can violently spread the fire.

If it’s safe, turn off the heat and cover the pan with a metal lid or baking sheet. For a small fire, baking soda may help. Use a Class K extinguisher where available. If the fire is spreading or you can’t control it safely, get out and call the fire department.

With the extreme hot temperatures headed our way we all need to be aware of the signs of heat related illnesses. Also make sure your pets are staying cool and have plenty of fresh water. Also never leave young children or pets locked in a hot car.
