๐ŸŽจ WELCOME BACK TO RED DEVIL NATION: MR. BRANDON NICHOLS! ๐Ÿ”ดโšช

Mountain Pine High School is thrilled to officially welcome back a familiar face to our hallways! Brandon Nichols is returning to the Red Devil family as our Art Teacher!

Mr. Nichols brings 13 years of art education experience back to our campus. He began his teaching career with 3 years at El Dorado High School, spent 7.5 highly impactful years right here at Mountain Pine, and most recently spent 2 years teaching in the Lake Washington School District in Washington state, the proud home of Microsoft and Nintendo's North American headquarters!

During his previous tenure at Mountain Pine, Mr. Nichols worked alongside the administration to develop a true 21st-century art program, seamlessly transitioning our traditional curriculum into the digital age with graphic design, photography, and emerging creative tech.

๐ŸšŒ Fun Facts & Red Devil Legacy:

Community Connections: Alongside teaching, he spent 10 years driving school buses, including 5 years behind the wheel of our very own Bus #14!

Campus Claims to Fame: If you've ever admired the Red Devil painted on our football field or the custom-designed paint job on our press box and surrounding buildings, you've already seen Mr. Nichols' incredible work!

Hobbies & Interests: When he isn't teaching, he loves cartooning, playing video games, and exercising. He runs on coffee, loves animals, appreciates good design, and absolutely dislikes painting fences. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Mr. Nichols is "excited to return to Mountain Pine to continue providing students with opportunities to develop creativity, technical skills, and self-expression". He looks forward to "reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new students, and contributing once again to our community".

Please join us in giving Mr. Nichols a massive, enthusiastic "Welcome Home" back to Mountain Pine! We are so incredibly lucky to have his talent back on our team! ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธโ˜•

๐Ÿˆ WELCOME TO RED DEVIL NATION: COACH TAUNO VANNUCCI! ๐Ÿ”ดโšช

Mountain Pine School District is thrilled to introduce Tauno Vannucci (pronounced Taw-no Van-new-chee), who is joining our family as an ALE Teacher, Assistant Football Coach, and Assistant Track Coach!

Coach Vannucci brings an impressive background both on the field and in the classroom. He graduated from Lake Hamilton High School in 2009, where he was named an All-State athlete in both baseball and football and won a 6A State Championshipโ€”before graduating from the University of Arkansas in 2014.

He joins us with valuable teaching and coaching experience from both the Sheridan and England school districts. Coach Vannucci is dedicated to continuous growth as an educator and leader, noting that the skills it takes to excel as an athlete are quite different from the skills it takes to successfully guide and mentor students.

"I am impressed by Coach Alderman's knowledge and approach to the game of football and the talented staff he has assembled," Coach Vannucci shared. "Coach Walpole has also been a big help in showing me the ropes with ALE. Many thanks to fellow coaches, teachers, admin, and community members for welcoming me with open arms. I feel like I've been a Red Devil my whole life."

We are so glad to have his energy, experience, and dedication on our campus. Coach Vannucci is "ready to hit the ground running and cannot wait to be under the Friday night lights at the most scenic stadium in Arkansas"!

Please join us in giving Coach Vannucci a massive Mountain Pine welcome! โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿˆ

๐ŸŽ NEW STAFF SPOTLIGHT: WELCOME MRS. CASSIE ZELAYA! ๐Ÿ”ดโšช

Mountain Pine School District is incredibly excited to introduce Cassie Zelaya, who is joining our Red Devil family as a new Special Education Teacher!

Mrs. Zelaya brings over a dozen years of diverse teaching experience to our district. Throughout her career, she discovered that her true calling and passion lie in Special Education, specifically in helping the underdog overcome challenges and find true success. We are so grateful she is bringing that unwavering dedication and tenacity to our students!

On a personal note, Mrs. Zelaya is married and has a wonderful daughter. She also admittedly has "too many dogs to be considered socially acceptable in any society" and an equally concerning obsession with planting flowering bushes and trees! When she isn't in the classroom, you can almost always find her outdoors tending to her plants, walking her dogs, or training for races "no sane person gets talked into signing up for." ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฑ

"I am incredibly grateful that Mountain Pine chose me to be part of their team, and I am excited to bring my tenacity to the district."

Please join us in giving Mrs. Zelaya a warm, enthusiastic Red Devil welcome! We are so glad you are here!

๐ŸŒฑ WELCOME TO RED DEVIL NATION: MRS. JANIE BAILEY! ๐Ÿ”ดโšช

Mountain Pine High School is thrilled to announce the addition of Janie Bailey as our new Agriculture Teacher for the upcoming school year!

Mrs. Bailey brings wonderful classroom experience to our campus, having spent the past three years teaching in the Ashdown School District. She grew up right down the road in Bismarck, Arkansas, where she graduated high school before heading to Southern Arkansas University to earn her Bachelorโ€™s degree in Agricultural Education.

She has a deep passion for agriculture, especially animal science, and loves getting to work hands-on with her students. One of her absolute favorite parts of teaching is seeing student projects come together in the shop and watching them take immense pride in what theyโ€™ve built.

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Bailey enjoys spending time with her family and staying active in the local agriculture community. She and her husband, who is also from Bismarck, were married last June and are so excited to be moving back closer to home.

"Sheโ€™s excited to be at Mountain Pine and is looking forward to getting to know her students and being part of the community."

Please join us in giving Mrs. Bailey a massive Red Devil welcome to the family! We can't wait to see our Ag program grow under her leadership! ๐Ÿšœ๐Ÿท๐ŸŒพ
