Great Plains State Park

Great Plains State Park Nestled between Tom Steed Lake and Wichita Mountains, Great Plains State Park showcases the best of southwestern Oklahoma's rugged landscape.

Hikers will enjoy the varied terrain comprised of boulder fields and native grass and mountain bikers can explore miles of fun and challenging trails. Anglers will find the lake stocked with plenty of crappie, hybrids and catfish. The park's prairie grasses, shrubs and trees also provide a natural environment for birds. Those with a keen eye can spot many species of songbirds and raptors year-round, plus migratory shorebirds during the spring and fall. The mountain boomer, a colorful collared lizard, can also be frequently spotted in the summer. The park has spots for RV and tent campers, and most of the campsites have lovely lake views. Camping:
1/4 W/E/S sites, 2 fully accessible; 44 W/E sites, 3 fully accessible; 28 tent sites, 2 fully accessible. Reserve an RV campsite online at okstateparks.camp/GP_Camping

Activities:
Boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, water sports, mountain biking and hiking. Amenities:
Swimming beach, camp store, ADA compliant, pets allowed on leash picnic area, grills, playground, pull-thru sites, dump station, restrooms and showers.

The 2nd Annual Trash Off was a success! We had 12 come join in the fun! I have to give a big shout out to the 3 littles who came and picked up trash today. Y'all did amazing such big helpers! We collected 8 bags of trash, 2 tires, some junk and boxers in a tree.
