With spring upon us, now is a good time to check your sump pumps. Sump pumps must NOT be connected to the city’s sanitary sewer system.

With the excess water we are already experiencing from uncontrollable inflow, illegal sump pump connections can quickly overload the system—leading to sewer backups throughout the community.

We ask all residents to take a moment to check both their sump pumps and rain gutters to ensure they are not connected to the sanitary sewer in any way.

Our pond system is not designed to handle excess stormwater. It is essential that capacity is preserved to properly treat sanitary sewer, helping keep everyone in Mountain Lake safe and our water systems clean.

Thank you for doing your part!

The issue with the reclaim tank at the Water Treatment Plant has been repaired. Residents should begin to notice clearer water. It may take a few days for the system to fully cycle through and return to normal water clarity. We appreciate your patience.
