After nine years of dedicated service as Superintendent of Richard McKenna Charter Schools, Dennis Wilson is retiring.

Mr. Wilson's leadership helped shape the growth of our schools, including the expansion of our junior high program and the development of our secondary campus. Throughout his tenure, he remained committed to creating opportunities for students and supporting innovative learning across all of our programs.

In recognition of his lasting impact on our school community, the Richard McKenna Charter Schools Board of Trustees recently dedicated the secondary gymnasium in his honor—a tribute to the leadership, vision, and commitment he has demonstrated throughout his years of service.

We are grateful for his dedication to our students, families, and staff and for the legacy he leaves behind.

We’re proud to share that our school community raised $534.82 for Ms. Katie and her family through our end-of-year fundraising! Funds were raised from Graphic Novel sales, “SpongeBomb a Teacher,” and other special activities throughout the last few weeks of school.

Decades Day was a success! ✌️🕺🎸

Once again, everyone absolutely nailed it! From throwback outfits to fun accessories, our students and staff brought the decades to life all across campus. We are loving the school spirit during dress-up week! 💙🖤💙

It’s the last week of school, and our students requested a dress-up week to celebrate! Today’s theme was Crazy Hair Day, and they absolutely nailed it! From wild colors to creative styles, the fun and school spirit were on full display across campus. We love seeing our students make memories and celebrate the end of another amazing year together!

A huge shoutout to Mariah L. for designing the cover for our Graphic Novel class collection even though she isn’t even in the class! Her creativity and generosity helped bring this project to life, and we are so grateful for her support. She interviewed each student in the class so she could include all of their characters and their unique traits on the front cover. ❤️

The Graphic Novel class is currently selling our student-created graphic novel collection for $5, with all proceeds going to support Ms. Katie, our music teacher, after her family’s home was destroyed in a fire.

Thank you, Mariah, for helping make this project even more meaningful!

Our students participated in Operation Ace yesterday! It was so fun to watch students battle it out and show off their knowledge of bones, muscles, and the heart. Congratulations to Skylar, our Operation Ace Champion! We are proud of all the students who participated and made the event such a success!
