The Idaho Department of Transportation Department has announced the reopening of State Highway 167 today following the cleanup and repairs to the roadway following the May 17th aircraft crash near Mountain Home Air Force Base.

SH-167 near Mountain Home Airforce Base is now open. ✅

Following the aircraft crash on May 17, the Navy team have completed aircraft wreckage and hazardous material removal from the highway and surrounding area. ITD crews have also repaired damaged sections of the roadway and rebuilt the shoulders to safely reopen the route to travelers.

Thank you to local residents and motorists for their patience during the closure.

Traffic Advisory - Walmart Access Change for June 11

Please be advised that on Thursday, June 11, the south (bottom) driveway entrance to Walmart will be temporarily closed due to construction related to the new Walmart-branded gas station.

Walmart will remain open for business.

For the duration of the closure, the only entrance and exit to Walmart will be the north (top) driveway located across from Tidal Wave Car Wash (see map below).

Walmart appreciates your patience and apologizes for any inconvenience as improvements to the site continue.

Please plan accordingly and allow for extra time when visiting the area.

The City of Mountain Home Parks & Recreation Department is incredibly grateful to announce a generous $1,000 donation to the Ready, Set, Play Financial Assistance Fund from former City Councilman Daniel Brennan and his wife, Brittny.

This contribution will help provide swim lesson scholarships for children in our community who may not otherwise be able to afford lessons. Learning to swim is more than just a fun summer activity—it's a life-saving skill that builds confidence, promotes healthy lifestyles, and creates opportunities for a lifetime of recreation.

Thanks to the generosity of community members like Daniel and Brittny, more local children will have the chance to learn, grow, and play while gaining an essential water safety skill.

Interested in helping more kids participate in Parks & Recreation programs? Donations to the Ready, Set, Play Financial Assistance Fund help remove financial barriers and ensure every child has the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of recreation.

Together, we're helping every child have the chance to learn, grow, and play.
