On Friday, the students and teachers were inspired during our Cougar Rally which focused on serving to think about what it means to serve others and make a difference in the lives of those around us. We enjoyed hearing from former cougar Addie Coe and her friend Stephan's Pinnick about collecting grocery bags to make mats for the homeless in Birmingham.

We loved seeing our students engaged, encouraged, and reminded that we all have the power to serve.

Our 6th grade scientists have been exploring the three forms of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation. This week they put their knowledge to the test in the most delicious way possible- by popping popcorn using all three methods! After collecting data and tasting the results, students wrote CER (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning) paragraphs defending which heat transfer makes the best popcorn. Spoiler alert : there were some heated debates!
