🚒🚑Today is the day!

When our community supported the Public Safety and Parks Levy, we made a commitment: hire six additional Firefighter/EMTs, fully staff Station 3, and eliminate cross-staffing.

Today, that commitment becomes reality.

Our newest firefighters have completed the academy, finished their training, and are officially staffing Station 3. This means dedicated crews, stronger response capabilities, and improved 4-minute response coverage for our community.

To the citizens of Mount Vernon: thank you. Your support of the Public Safety and Parks Levy is making a real difference in emergency response throughout our city.

This is more than a staffing milestone—it's a safer Mount Vernon.
