At 2:57 PM units were dispatched for a mutual aid structure fire on Highway 3447 in Jackson County to assist Sand Gap. Tanker 82 and 2 firefighters responded. BRVFD units provided 2600 gallons of water and some additional manpower for extinguishment and overhaul. Also responding from Rockcastle County was Mount Vernon Fire Department and Livingston Ky. Fire & Rescue. Several other agencies from Jackson and Madison counties also responded.

At 12:46 PM units were dispatched to a garbage truck on fire on North Wilderness Road in front of Roundstone Elementary. Engine 83, Tanker 82, and 5 Firefighters responded. Mount Vernon Fire Department was also requested for water due to the potential fire load involved with a garbage truck. Fortunately the fire did not spread to the contents of the garbage bed and was able to be extinguished using approximately 750 gallons of water. Also on scene was Rockcastle Emergency Management, Kentucky State Police, and David's Tire Center Towing and Recovery LLC.

8/31/26 1:40pm - Traffic is currently being controlled around the area of this fire… Use caution in the area, and expect delays until the scene is cleared.

8/31/26 1:05pm - Units report fire is under control at this time.

8/31/26 1:00pm - Brindle Ridge Fire units are currently on the scene of a commercial vehicle fire in front of Roundstone Elementary School. US 25 is currently blocked in both directions. THERE IS NO DANGER to students or staff at the school! Updates will be posted when they are available.

At 6:15 PM units were dispatched mutual aid to assist Mount Vernon Fire Department with a camper on fire on I-75 at the 69mm southbound. Engine 83, Tanker 82, and 4 firefighters responded.

At 2:19 PM units were dispatched to a camper on fire at the intersection of North Wilderness Road and Hurricane School Road. Engine 83, Tanker 82, and 5 Firefighters responded. Mount Vernon Fire Department also responded for additional water.
Engine 83 arrived on scene 12 minutes and 46 seconds after inital dispatch. The fire was extinguished using approximately 2000 gallons of water. Also on scene was Woodall's Christ Driven Towing & Recovery.

Also on scene was Mount Vernon Police Department, Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office, Thoroughtruck Truck Repair and Towing, and Woodall's Christ Driven Towing and Recovery.

Residents of the Brindle Ridge response area,

We're blown away by the generosity you showed during our Annual Family Portrait fundraiser. This was the most successful portrait fundraiser in our department's history, and every single one of you made that happen. Your support keeps our trucks rolling and our community protected. We're looking forward to seeing everyone August 23rd for the photo session!
