15 YEARS! 🍏🍌🎒

Can you believe that this group of individuals with the Mt. Vernon Rotary Club, plus several more not pictured have been servicing our MVISD students for that long? If you knew them each individually, you wouldn’t think twice! The 15th year of the weekend food bag program soon begins. We want to give a special thank you to each of these volunteers.

This past Friday we met with the new officers of the MVHS Interact Cub. Pictured below is Katie Tovar, Logan Baker, Paul Bentley, Hope Jordan, Rachel Stephens, and sponsor Lacey Stephens.

The MVHS Interact Club averages about 86 student members per year, or about 18% of the high school population. Many of the Interact students have volunteered with Mt. Vernon Rotary's fundraisers including the 2025 Rotary Gala, Country Fest's Pancake Breakfast, the Academic Banquet, and Tour de Cypress Bike Ride Mount Vernon Texas - Third Saturday in April. The club also hosts their own community outreach events such as caroling during the holiday season at the Mt. Vernon House and a sock exchange.

Join us today at noon to meet the officers of the Interact Club of Mt. Vernon High School. The Interact Club plays an important part in many of our community projects including our annual pancake breakfast fundraiser at Country Fest in October and Tour de Cypress in April.

This week, we’ll hear from Nathan Reves with a presentation on Interact Club and what it means for students to get involved through service.

Interact is a Rotary-sponsored program for students ages 12–18 that gives young people the opportunity to serve their schools and communities, build leadership skills, and learn what it means to put Service Above Self into action.

We’re looking forward to learning more about how Interact can help young people become leaders right here in our community.

Join us at the Masonic Lodge in Mt. Vernon at noon and and hear what Interact is all about!
