Contractors will begin work next week to repair the Wolf Creek bridge and upon state approval the bridge will be re-opened. Once work is completed and the bridge is deemed safe by the state department the barriers will be removed. The county is currently working with the state to secure grant funds in order to have the bridge completely replaced. We apologize for the inconvenience. As noted in the letter above any bridge longer than 20 feet is mandated by the state.

Bid Notice for Grading at the Rockcastle County Sports Complex site.
The Rockcastle County Fiscal Court will be accepting bids for the grading on the Rockcastle County Sports Complex site.
Bids will be accepted until the hour of 12:00 p.m. on 9/8/2026. Bids will be opened at the regularly scheduled court meeting on 9/8/2026 at the hour of 4:00 p.m. There will be a mandatory pre-bid with site visit on August 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will start at the Rockcastle County Judge Executive’s office at 205 East Main Street Mt. Vernon, KY 40456 and then proceed to the site for the site review.
Bid specifications may be obtained from the office of the County Judge Executive prior to bid opening upon request. The Rockcastle County Fiscal Court reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids. Bids may be mailed to Rockcastle County Fiscal Court, P.O. Box 755, Mt. Vernon, KY 40456 or dropped off at the County Judge’s Office on the second floor of the courthouse. All bids must be sealed and marked sealed bid to be accepted.

Bid Notice!
Rockcastle County Fiscal Court is now accepting bids for a new forklift.
All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the words “Sealed Bid” printed on the outside and arrive at the County Judge Executive’s Office by 12:00 noon on August 11, 2026. All bids will be opened at the Fiscal Court Meeting in the 3rd floor conference room of the Rockcastle County Courthouse 205 East Main Street Mt. Vernon, KY 40456 at 4:00p.m. on August 11, 2026.
Bid packets may be picked up at the County Judge’s office Monday -Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Rockcastle Fiscal Court will be accepting sealed bids for crushed limestone, asphalt surface, hot and cold mix, DWP culverts, and bulk road salt for the fiscal year 2026-2027 until noon on June 18, 2026. Bid specs may be picked up on request from the Rockcastle County Judge's office prior to bid opening. Rockcastle County E-911 is accepting applications for a third shift dispatcher position. You may pick up an application, Monday–Friday
8am-4pm at the Rockcastle County Courthouse from the County Judge’s office. You must be at least 18 years of age to apply, have a High School Diploma or GED, submit to drug screening, and a criminal history/background check. Rockcastle County E-911 is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

On April 13, 2026, CVADD Chairman, Rockcastle County Judge Executive, Howell Holbrook, signed off on PRTC Broadband expanding service to the Sand Hill area of the county. This area is currently one of the county's underserved areas, where we are working to provide Broadband service. This service was acquired by grants received through the County Judge's Office. This opportunity was made possible through BEAD and state funding.
