🚧 Traffic Alert – Rockcastle County 🚧

Beginning Wednesday, July 29 at 7 p.m., the I-75 northbound exit ramp and southbound entrance ramp at Exit 62 will be temporarily closed for approximately four weeks as work continues on the U.S. 25/KY 461 Improvement Project.

Motorists should use Exit 59, travel U.S. 25 to KY 461, and reconnect with U.S. 25.

These temporary closures are necessary as crews continue improvements that will reconstruct intersections, widen KY 461, and convert the I-75 interchange ramps to modern roundabouts—enhancing safety, improving mobility, and reducing congestion for motorists traveling through the area.

Please plan ahead, follow posted detour signs, and use caution in the work zone. 🚧

🚨 Road Closure Alert 🚨

Highway 150 is currently shut down between Family Dollar and White Rock Road due to a vehicle versus utility pole accident.

Please avoid this area and seek an alternate route while crews work to clear the scene and address the damaged utility pole.

We will provide updates as soon as the roadway is reopened. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

6:00PM Update: Although the roads may appear clear, they have flash frozen and are extremely slick and dangerous.

We are already seeing hazardous spots throughout the city, and there have already been accidents reported on the interstate due to these conditions. Please do not let the appearance of the roadway fool you. If you do not absolutely have to be out, stay home.

Update: Road Conditions as of 2:00 PM

Roadways throughout the City of Mount Vernon have been somewhat passable today; however, conditions are expected to quickly deteriorate this afternoon and into the evening as temperatures continue to drop.

For your safety, please stay home if at all possible. If you must be out and find yourself needing assistance, do not hesitate to contact us.
