PUBLIC NOTICE:

PLEASANT TOWNSHIP, KNOX COUNTY, OHIO ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS 2026

Sealed bids for Pleasant Township Roadway Improvements 2025 will be received by the Township Fiscal Officer at the Pleasant Township House located at 8287 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 until 7:30pm local time, Date: June 1st, 2026 at which time the Bids received will be opened and read aloud.

Bids shall be sealed and marked on the outside of the envelope as a bid for the Pleasant Township Roadway Improvements 2026 and mailed to PO Box 1151, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 or delivered to 8287 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 by appointment only.

Project Description: This project consists of roadway resurfacing on Township roads in Knox County, Ohio. Surface treatments may include hot mix asphalt surface courses, hot mix asphalt leveling courses and chip and seal applications as indicated in the plans, drawings, and specifications.

Plans, specifications, and bid forms may be obtained by emailing: [email protected]. Due to limited office hours, please call 740-504-7593 to schedule a time for pickup of the bid package and delivery of the bid. Copies of plans and specifications are available for viewing at the location cited above, by appointment only or during the regularly scheduled Township meeting [first and third Monday each month @ 7:30pm local time].

Each bid must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid. Said guarantee may be in the form of a bid bond, bid guarantee and contract bond, a certified check or cashier’s check or a letter of credit. Bid guarantees must meet the requirements of section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code except as modified herein.

Upon awarding the contract, the contractor shall provide a performance bond in the full amount of the bid. Said bond shall be in the name of Pleasant Township Trustees. Said bidder shall enter into a contract with the Board of Township Trustees within fifteen (15) working days from the date of the award. Said bond shall remain in effect until the work has been accepted in writing.

The successful bidder shall comply with the requirements of the Ohio Department of Commerce Wage and Hou Division and Chapter 4115 of the Ohio Revised Code.

All Contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of this project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal opportunity requirements of the Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor’s Executive order of 1972, and Governor’s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.

The Township Board of Trustees reserve the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities.

PUBLIC NOTICE 12/30/25

Pleasant Township annual organizational meeting will be held at the Pleasant Township Building located at 8287 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio starting at 7:30 p. m. on January 5, 2026.

All regular scheduled meetings for 2026 will be the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, except for major holidays, 7:30 p.m. at the above address. If a meeting is cancelled due to a holiday, a notice will be posted on the front door of the Township Building. Typically the meeting would be held the following evening if moved for a holiday.
