Fire Hydrant Testing Schedule Change

Hydrant testing to resume next week. The Mt. Vernon Fire Department will not be testing fire hydrants this week due to weather conditions and scheduling conflicts.

Testing is expected to resume next week. A notice will be sent out with dates and locations once they have been finalized.

Fire Hydrant Testing Scheduled For Next Week

Temporary water discoloration may occur. The Mt. Vernon Fire Department will begin fire hydrant testing (weather permitting) next week, from Monday, June 8th, through Friday, June 12th.

Testing will primarily occur in the following areas:
PRIMARILY NORTH AND SOUTH OF BROADWAY, FROM 45th STREET TO 34th STREET.

Residents are cautioned that testing can cause discoloration in the water supply in the area being tested.
