We are so excited to have Happy Spokes right here in Knox County! Thank you, United Way of Knox County Ohio for helping to make this a possibility for so many people in Knox County.

Happy Spokes offers free, volunteer-piloted trishaw rides to older adults and individuals with limited mobility—bringing connection, joy, and outdoor experiences to every corner of Knox County. https://www.uwayknox.org/iniatitives/happy-spokes

Happy Spokes officially debuted as part of the Celebrate Trails Day activities at Ariel-Foundation Park on April 25, 2026.

Happy Spokes is Knox County’s chapter of the worldwide program, Cycling Without Age. This program offers inclusive biking experiences using specially designed tri-shaws that allow riders of all ages and abilities to experience the joy of cycling.
The tri-shaws can accommodate a solo rider, a rider with a support person, and individuals who use wheelchairs.
Over the past year, community partners have been working to bring this program to our neighborhoods. We have already seen the impact as riders experience joy, connection, and a renewed sense of freedom through these shared rides.
We are excited to officially launch Happy Spokes at Celebrate Trails Day this Saturday!
There will be opportunities to learn more about the program, sign up for future rides, explore becoming a volunteer ride pilot, and even take a test ride with one of our certified pilots.
