C.E. Brehm Memorial Public Library District Originally a Carnegie Library that became a District Library, serving three townships comprising Mt. Vernon, Illinois, in 1989.

In 2003 the District expanded to include 15 of the 16 townships in Jefferson County, IL. How To Get A Library Card

For Jefferson County Residents (No Fee)*
You must have the following:
-A picture ID (State or Government Issued)
-Two (2) items with your Name and Current Address [IL ID, Checkbook, Mail, etc.]

If you are under 18 years old and do not have a driver's license, you must have your pare

nt or legal guardian with you to get a library card. They must provide the above information. Illinois Resident outside of Jefferson County:
$100.00 fee per year

*Grand Prairie Township residents are in the Centralia Library district and get their card at Centralia.
