Ohio Goes to the Movies is bringing a massive 250-day statewide cinematic celebration to all 88 counties, highlighting films with Buckeye ties.

As part of the fun, Ariel-Foundation Park is hosting a special outdoor screening of Bye Bye Birdie on July 26 in tribute to Mount Vernon native Paul Lynde. Grab your blankets and lawn chairs for a great night celebrating local history!

The City’s teams are actively working to repair a waterline break on West High Street, located outside the perimeter of Riverside Park.

Because the break and the resulting hazards, such as rushing water and heavy equipment are strictly confined to the roadside work zone, Riverside Park, the playgrounds, and Captain Hunter’s Landing Splashpad remain completely safe and open to the public. There are currently no boil advisories or service interruptions, nor do we expect there to be.

While the park itself is unaffected, the nearby repair site is a hazard. For absolutely no reason should anyone approach the work area. Because of how close this is to the park, parents and guardians must be especially attentive to their children to ensure everyone stays well away from the construction zone.

Should any further issues arise, the City will update this post and our website immediately.
