Welcome to our office, Rachel Cain. Rachael is starting her third week with our office as the County Program Assistant. Rachel will be assisting with Ag, FCS and 4-H. Rachel finished a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture in May. We are happy to have her help with upcoming programs. You might want to like the page Cooperative Extension Rockcastle. Tomorrow (Tuesday, July 30) starts the Quilting Day Camps for Youth 9 and above. This is their project. This quilt has a modern look and is a good starting project. We have 12 kids that have reserved a space in the 3- day workshop. I need my dependable volunteers tomorrow 9am- 3pm!! Call the office at 606-256-2403 to volunteer to assist these talented kids.

Additional judges are needed for the 4-H State Communications Day (Contest) on Saturday July 13 on UK Campus. If you have an interest in helping with this program and have assisted with county 4-h programs in the past, please let me know ASAP so that I can get the information to you; The contest is right around the corner.

I am preparing for my 4-H camp classes and I am finding that one of the projects can use zippers. If any sewists have zippers of any length (metal or polyester) that you would like to clear from your sewing area, i would be happy to have them for the youth classes. Just drop them by the Extension Office before June 11 (when we leave for camp).

We will have our next dinner social from 6-8pm this Thursday Evening, May 30. We have new youth and family members joining us for this dinner. We will be featuring breakfast foods. For more information on the dinner socials, contact the Extension Office at 256-2403.

There will be Sit-N-Sew at the Extension Office tomorrow from 9am-3pm. If you are tired of being indoors, bring your supplies and sew with us at the office. Call 256-2403 to save a space.

Tomorrow Tuesday February 26at 1pm we will have a lesson called "Stay Happy, Stay Healthy" at the Extension Office. Learn how laughter helps to keep us younger and healthier. You will learn about some games that are guaranteed to cause belly laughter.
