The Huntingdon Borough Police Department extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fellow Troopers of the Pennsylvania State Police following the tragic line-of-duty death of Corporal Timothy J. O’Connor Jr.

We stand in solidarity with the Pennsylvania State Police and keep Corporal O’Connor’s family and colleagues in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Today, Sheriff Leonard and deputies from our office, along with our law enforcement partners from Huntingdon Borough Police Department and Mount Union Police Department, were proud to attend and support CHAMP at their dance held at the Mount Union Area High School.

CHAMP continues to make a meaningful impact by bringing students, families, and community members together to support local individuals facing serious medical challenges. Their commitment to serving others reflects the very best of our community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside these dedicated students and volunteers this evening. Supporting organizations that strengthen and uplift our county remains an important part of our mission.

We also extend our appreciation to the Mount Union Area School District for hosting this event.

The Mount Union Police Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the United States Deputy Sheriff's Association for their generous donation of two tactical ballistic vests for our officers.

The safety of our personnel is always a top priority, and this equipment will directly enhance officer protection while serving our community. For a small department such as ours, support from organizations like yours makes a significant and meaningful difference.

We are truly grateful for your commitment to supporting law enforcement agencies across the country and for investing in the safety and well-being of our officers!

Today, on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we recognize the sacrifice behind the badge and the strength it takes to wear it.

To the officers who walk out the door not knowing what the day will bring—and the families waiting for them to come home—thank you for your courage, commitment, and sacrifice.

Last evenings Mount Union Old Fashioned Christmas was something special! Our officers were honored to help provide safety and security for this event. Even with the snowy weather and influx of people, we had no incidents to report. We couldn’t have done it without the volunteers with the Mount Union Fire Company so a special thank you to them and all the organizers with the Mount Union Chamber of Commerce for making it a wonderful experience! ❄️🎄🎅🏻
