Good Afternoon,

Yesterday we had a visit from Congressman John Joyce along with other dignitaries from state to local government.

We were honored to sit down with all governmental partners and talk about the issues facing the emergency services. Some of the topics that were covered: Funding, Staffing and Equipment Costs.

We here at MUEMS find these meetings very beneficial with our governmental partners, so they understand the day to day struggles emergency services are facing.

We are planning to hold another meeting with our government partners in 4 months.

We want to say THANK YOU to the following participants:

Congressman John Joyce
Representative Rich Irvan
Anthony Martin - Pa EMS Bureau Director
Jordan Anthony Dirctor of SAEMS
Heather Haris - Director of Amb. Association of Pa.
Gary Frain - Shirly Twp. Supervisor
Scott Wells - Huntingdon County Commissioner
Patrick Reeder Huntingdon County Commissioner

We are looking forward to our next meeting.

We were blown away at last night's response to our Back to School Bonanza at our Mount Union Branch - we handed out 96 backpacks, extra supplies, hot dogs, and slushies!

A huge thank you to the Mount Union EMS, ACCO, and the community for their generous donations as well as our very own CSB staff - without all of you this event wouldn't have been possible!

Well, the school supply hand out evening was overwhelming.

We had a great turnout from the community, and unfortunately we had more people than we had bags.

We would like to apologize to those that did not receive a back pack, we as group did not anticipate the large turnout for this event, but we are already planning for next year's event.

We would like to say THANK YOU to Community State Bank for a wonderful partnership for this event. It is nice to see organizations working together to help their community.

Good Afternoon,

Our annual membership reminder mailing will be sent out in the next week.

This reminder mailing is for those residents that might have forgotten to send in their membership when it first went out in June.

We would like to take this time to say THANK YOU to everyone that sent in a membership, and some also sent an additional donation, and that is greatly appreciated.

If you should have any questions, please feel free to stop by our station, or give me a call (717)-449-3411 and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Respectfully,

Matthew E Hauck
EMS Chief

We just want to remind everyone that it's getting close for the school supply day, we hope to see you.

Good evening,

There is a potential that our area will feel the effects of tropical storm Debby in the next few days.

There is the possibility for heavy rain that can lead to flooding of roads and other areas. There is also the possibility of strong winds that can lead to power outages, trees down and wires down.

We would like to give some tips on getting prepared:

1- Have an evacuation plan made and let family, or a friend know where you will be going.

2- Have all your devices charged: cell phones, laptops, tablets etc. that way you can stay in contact if there would be power outage.

3- If you are out, and encounter a flooded roadway, "Turn Around Don't Drown", never drive into flood waters.

4- If you lose power, and you plan on using a portable generator, please follow the following:
A- Keep the generator at least 30 feet away from your home, never use a generator indoors or in partially enclosed spaces like a garage etc. this can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning which can be fatal.
B- Make sure to use heavy duty cords, or outdoor rated extension cords.

5- If you see a wire or wires down, do not approach them contact 911.

Please be safe and monitor TV for further weather developments and announcements.

It was a busy weekend for the MUEMS staff.

Friday started off with participating in the National Night Out, which was Awesome to talk with all the people that stopped by our stand.

Saturday and Sunday the staff participated in a Active Shooter Class that was taught by the Seven Mountains EMS Task Force. Our staff learned valuable education on how to be part of an entry team into the "Warm Zone" during an active shooter event.

Upon completion of this class we will be provided 2 balstic vests for of our units and a Active Shooter bag for each of our units that can treat up to 8 patients.

The class and instructors were awesome, and we are already planning another Active Shooter Class for 2025. Please keep checking our FB PAGE for updated information.

We would like to give a big Thank You to Checkers restaurant for providing our wonderful lunch for both days

We had participates from:

Blair County
Center County
West Morland County

We had a wonderful time to participate in National Night Out.

We had a great time sharing on what our services are about, and providing information to the community on memberships, and file of life, and providing handouts to the children.

The biggest hit was our snowcone machine, which was a pleasure providing a cool snack on a warm evening.

Thank You Huntingdon Borough Police Department for extending the invitation for us to be present.
