CDFW and Siskiyou County Agencies are working together this evening in the vicinity of Summit Drive, West of I-5 attempting the capture of a juvenile mountain lion with the assistance of trained dogs. Please be aware that that these amazing, working dogs are helping to locate the animal and allow for its safe capture and relocation. Please be aware and thank you for letting them do their job safely.

Mt Shasta Police Department Press Release for May 25, 2026 to May 31, 2026:

On May 25, 2026 60-year-old Douglas Glenn Tedford was arrested for Public Intoxication.

On May 28, 2026 33-year-old Marleen Robin Lindsey was arrested for Cruelty to a Child.

Pursuant to California Penal Code § 832.7, the Mt. Shasta Police Department and W**d Police Department are releasing associated body worn camera footage related to the officer involved shooting that occurred on March 21, 2026, during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 near the north W**d off-ramp.

The released footage contains synchronized body worn camera footage from responding officers. Portions of the video have been slowed, paused, enlarged, and/or redacted for clarity and privacy purposes. The release of this footage is intended to provide transparency regarding the incident and does not represent the entirety of the investigation or all evidence collected.

The California Highway Patrol Northern Division Major Accident Investigation Team remains the lead investigating agency handling the officer involved shooting investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
Viewer discretion is advised, as portions of the footage may be disturbing to some viewers.

On May 22, 2026 56-year-old Matthew Dale Kerr was arrested for Resisting and Obstructing a Peace Officer.

On May 24, 2026 30-year-old Hunter Rodgers Jackson was arrested on a Local Warrant.
