The Meridian Park Trails have all officially been named! 🥳🥳

Isabella County Parks Staff has reviewed all of the trail name suggestions, and has made final decisions based on the favorites of both community members and staff.

THANK YOU to everyone who participated, and to the Mt. Pleasant Area Convention and Visitors Bureau for funding the Meridian Park Wayfinding Signage Project, which will increase navigability and safety for all park visitors! Stay tuned for future project updates🙌

We were so happy to have medical students from Covenant HealthCare College of Medicine at Central Michigan University visiting Deerfield Nature Park last week!

These students were partaking in a wellness session, learning the personal health benefits inherent to time spent in nature, and how to share this wellness option with patients. Isabella County Parks Staff frequently preaches these benefits in the parks and recreation world, and it is wonderful to see the medical field also engaging with the concept!

ATTENTION DISC GOLFERS! -- A Disc Golf Tournament will close both the Wildwood Course and the Deerfield Course from 7:00am-6:00pm this Sunday, February 15, 2026.

IT IS TIME.
Isabella County Parks received a $5,000 Destination Development grant from the Mt. Pleasant Area Convention and Visitors Bureau in Fall 2025 to add wayfinding signage and trail markers to assist park visitors in navigating and exploring our beautiful Meridian Park – but the first step in this project is naming the trails! And we want input from community members who love this natural area.

Check out the yellow and purple trails on the map image and comment on the post to let us know what you think they should be named! This naming contest starts today and ends Friday, February 13, 2026.

2/4/26 UPDATE Cross Country Ski Trail Conditions at Deerfield Nature Park 🎿🎿:
The ski trails were groomed 2/3/26! Conditions are fair – not a lot of snow and very fluffy/airy.
