💛 💙 Mt. Pleasant Public Schools is incredibly grateful to have been selected for the Spring 2026 2% Grants. The Tribe has generously awarded our district a grand total of $197,850.74!

These funds will support essential programs and innovative new projects across every building in our district, including:
🤖 Robotics and eSports team competitions
🛡️ Critical safety and security upgrades
📚 Enhanced literacy tools, diverse books, and hands-on learning materials
🐾 Support for the Oiler Pack Therapy Dog Program
🗣️ Positive behavioral supports, student nutrition, and health education

Today the World Cultures class got to experience a favorite Italian pastime: the game of bocce.

Bocce is one of the oldest games known to mankind and has been played since as early as 5,000 BC. The game was so popular in Italy that at one point in 1319 AD bocce was forbidden to the lower nobility because it was seen as a distraction from vital military duties and arms practice.
Over time, bocce was brought to the United States when people immigrated from Italy.

Students were able to experience the game and see why it has continued to be so popular, as well as enjoy the sunshine today!

Spanish 2 students in Profe Brown's and Profe Packer's classes had fun creating "freeze frames" to demonstrate understanding of a story they learned based on the short film "Oktapodi."

Congratulations to A***n Punjabi for winning the Trig Star competition for the state of Michigan! Trig Star is a mathematics competition hosted by the National Society of Professional Surveyors. He scored the highest among all participants in the state and qualified to compete at the national level. Winning the competition also earns him a scholarship as well as recognition at the annual conference of NSPS, which will be held next February!
