Well, it’s that time again! Time to vote!
I wanted to announce that I am running for reelection as Constable of Precinct 2 in Titus county. I have served as Constable for Precinct 2 for the last nine years and hope to continue to serve in the future.
For those that don’t know what a Constable is, the best way I can explain it is it’s the same as any other law enforcement officer, with the exception, that along with enforcing criminal laws, we also serve civil process and serve as bailiff for Justice Court. As a separate part of my job, I also transport individuals to mental health facilities who have been detained by emergency detention warrants (EDW) and orders of protective custody (OPC).
For those who know me and have supported me, I appreciate that support very much and I ask for your continued support. For those who don’t know me, my name is Ray Barrett. I’m married to my beautiful wife Rendy Barrett (Sergeant with the Titus County Sheriff’s Office), and we have four wonderful children and seven amazing grandchildren. I have lived in Titus County for 46 years and have been in law-enforcement for 21 years. I started my career with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department in May of 2003. I worked in patrol for a few years before being promoted to Patrol Sergeant. The last two years I was there, I served as Sergeant Detective over the Criminal Investigation Division (CID). In October of 2014, after the untimely death of Constable Cleave Johnson, I was appointed as Constable of Precinct 2. I love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and I owe Him all the Glory and Praise for everything in my life. I’m a man of flesh and I have flaws and imperfections but I try hard to serve God and let Him reign over my life. I’m a God fearing Christian conservative who believes wholeheartedly in the United States Constitution. In my job as a law-enforcement officer, I will do everything in my power to serve, protect, and defend that Constitution! If you ever have any questions or issues, my office door is always open to you. I hope you will vote for me on Election Day.
