Today, October 3rd, 2018 the Federal Communications Commission will be conducting a test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA). The WEA test will be conducted at 2:18PM, and the EAS test will follow at 2:20PM. The WEA test will alert ALL wireless phones; please be prepared for these tests to be conducted.

This is Isabella County Emergency Management with a special announcement.
Due to the excessive heat forecast for tomorrow, Isabella County Emergency Management, in conjunction with the Commission on Aging will be opening a cooling center. The cooling center will be open from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday, June 30, 2018. The cooling center will be located at the Isabella County Commission on Aging at 2200 S Lincoln Rd, Mt Pleasant.

Anyone who is seeking relief from the heat is welcome, regardless of age. If transportation to the cooling center is needed, please contact iRide at 989-772-9441.

Please remember to check on neighbors and family members and inform them that the cooling center is available.

Please remember to drink plenty of water, and avoid being outside, if possible. If you think you are displaying any symptoms of a heat related illness, seek medical attention. Call 911 for any emergencies.
