City of Mount Pleasant Park & Recreation Department These taxes are paid whether or not individuals participant in programs, or use the department's facilities.

The City of Mount Pleasant Parks and Recreations Department's mission is to enhance the quality of life for the Mount Pleasant community through a well planned and maintained system of public parks, facilities and recreation programs. The Department will continually strive to offer a balanced park and recreation system recognizing the need for both active and passive recreation including the preservation of the natural environment. Through proper vision, the Parks and Recreation Department will offer public parks, facilities and programs that meet the leisure needs for the citizens of Mount Pleasant in the present and in the future. Non-Resident Policy: The City of Mount Pleasant residents make a significant contribution to the financing and operation of the Mount Pleasant Park & Recreation Department through city property taxes. To ensure equity, non-residents (those living outside the Mount Pleasant city limits) will be charged a non-resident fee in addition to the program fee.

🏈 1st–4th Grade Youth Flag Football Update! 🏈

We wanted to give everyone a quick heads-up as we get ready to kick off our 1st–4th Grade Youth Flag Football League!

📋 Coaches will be picking up their **team rosters and football equipment on Wednesday, September 16** in the afternoon. Coaches will then be contacting the players on their teams with team information.

📅 September 26–October 24, 2026

🏈 Kindergarten Flag Football Update! 🏈

Our department has officially finalized the teams for our Kindergarten Flag Football Program!

Parents: Team information will be emailed on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, letting you know what team color your child will be on.

🏈 Program Dates: Mondays, September 21–October 12
⏰ Time: 5:30–6:15 PM
📍 Location: East Lake Park Softball Complex – Field 1

⛳ Driving Range Closure Notice⛳

The East Lake Park Driving Range will be closed today, Wednesday, September 9, through Thursday, September 10 at 3:00 PM for scheduled maintenance.

Due to the rain today, we were unable to pick up the golf balls. Golf balls will be picked up on Thursday, September 10 from 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.

The driving range will reopen at 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 10.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we complete maintenance and get the range ready for use!
