The City of Mount Pleasant Parks and Recreations Department's mission is to enhance the quality of life for the Mount Pleasant community through a well planned and maintained system of public parks, facilities and recreation programs. The Department will continually strive to offer a balanced park and recreation system recognizing the need for both active and passive recreation including the prese

rvation of the natural environment. Through proper vision, the Parks and Recreation Department will offer public parks, facilities and programs that meet the leisure needs for the citizens of Mount Pleasant in the present and in the future. Non-Resident Policy: The City of Mount Pleasant residents make a significant contribution to the financing and operation of the Mount Pleasant Park & Recreation Department through city property taxes. To ensure equity, non-residents (those living outside the Mount Pleasant city limits) will be charged a non-resident fee in addition to the program fee.

Due to excessive rainfall and standing water, the following facilities at East Lake Park are closed today, Wednesday, June 17, 2026:

• East Lake Park Softball Complex Fields – Closed due to flooded field conditions.
• East Lake Tennis Courts – Closed due to wet and slippery court surfaces.
• East Lake Park Driving Range – Closed for the day due to weather conditions.

The driving range is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

Aquatic Center Closure Notice

The Mount Pleasant Family Aquatic Center will be closed today, Wednesday, June 17, 2026, due to cool temperatures and rainy weather.

We will reopen on Thursday, June 18, 2026, for swimming lessons in the morning, followed by Lap Swim and Open Swim in the afternoon.
