We had a great first week of our FREE 4-H Summer STEM Camps!

This week's camp, A Good Seed Indeed, gave campersthe opportunity to learn about making good choices while creating seed packet crafts and seed & bean mosaics. We had a lot of fun learning, creating, and exploring together!

There's still plenty of summer fun ahead, and we'd love to have more friends join us for future camps. Our 4-H Summer STEM Camps are designed for youth in grades K-4 and feature stories, games, crafts, movement activities, and healthy snacks inspired by popular children's books.

This is the last chance to get in on our Communications Workshop, helping Henry County 4-H'ers learn about Communication Events, develop project ideas, and practice their public speaking skills before fair!

👑 Applications Are Closing Soon for the 2026 Henry County Fair Queen Contest!

Do you know a young woman who is ready to grow her confidence, develop leadership skills, and make lasting connections in our community?

The Henry County Iowa Fair Queen Contest is open to participants ages 8–21 and offers valuable opportunities to strengthen public speaking, interview skills, community involvement, and personal growth—all while representing Henry County with pride.

Whether you're interested in building new skills, meeting new friends, or stepping outside your comfort zone, the Fair Queen Contest is an experience that can make a lasting impact.

Preserve the Taste of Summer! 🫐🍓

Calling all Henry County 4-H'ers! Join us for a fun, hands-on Youth Jam-Making Workshop on June 12 and learn safe food preservation techniques while creating your own delicious jam to take home. Participants will also learn about dehydrating foods and other ways to preserve the flavors of summer.

This workshop is a great opportunity to make your own jam, learn food preservation skills, and create a project worthy of the fair!

🧵 Sewing & Needle Arts Workshop Registration Open! 🧵

Henry County 4-H members are invited to join us for a free Sewing & Needle Arts Workshop on:

🕘 9:00 AM
📍 Iowa State University Extension & Outreach – Henry County

Whether you're brand new to sewing or looking to build your skills, this beginner-friendly workshop will cover:
• Hand stitching basics
• Simple mending techniques
• Sewing machine operation and safety

Participants will complete projects that can be exhibited at the county fair while gaining valuable sewing skills and confidence.

Space is limited to 10 participants, so register early to reserve your spot.

We're also seeking two volunteers with sewing experience to assist during the workshop. If you're interested in helping youth learn a lifelong skill, we'd love to hear from you!

Reminder for Henry County Fair 4-H Members ⏰

The deadline for Rabbit & Poultry Animal ID is coming up quickly! All rabbit and poultry information must be entered into 4-H Online by the end of the day on June 1st to be eligible for the Henry County Fair.
