On this, the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Mount Pleasant Police officers and firefighters came together and paid tribute to the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, and eight EMS workers, along with 2,561 civilians killed in the attacks.

Pumpkin spice season is officially here... and apparently so is pumpkin rescue season. 🐱🚒

You may think firefighters only get called to rescue cats from trees, but our Mount Pleasant Fire Department crews never quite know what the next call will bring.

Recently, firefighters were called to help Pumpkin, a cat who found himself stuck in a storm drain. Thankfully, our crews were able to safely free him and get him back where he belonged.

It’s just one more example of the care, skill and willingness to help that our firefighters bring to every call.

A big thank you to the Mount Pleasant Fire Department for always being ready to lend a hand... or, in this case, a paw. ❤️🐾

🚒 Mount Pleasant Fire Department Receives Sixth International Accreditation!

The Mount Pleasant Fire Department has received Accredited Agency status from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI), marking the department’s sixth consecutive accreditation and reaffirming its commitment to excellence, continuous improvement and exceptional service to the Mount Pleasant community.

This accreditation places the Mount Pleasant Fire Department among few fire departments in the country to achieve six consecutive accreditations.

🚦 Traffic Talks Tuesday! 🚦

In this edition of Traffic Talk Tuesdays, we’re highlighting how the Town of Mount Pleasant incorporates accessibility into transportation and infrastructure projects.

From sidewalks and ADA ramps to crosswalk improvements and audible pedestrian signals, accessibility is an important part of helping everyone move around town safely and efficiently.

Mobility for all remains a key goal as the Town continues to build new projects, retrofit older infrastructure, and improve safe access throughout the community.

Congrats to the Mount Pleasant Fire Department for receiving a sixth international accreditation!

The Mount Pleasant Fire Department has received Accredited Agency status from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI), marking the department’s sixth consecutive accreditation and reaffirming its commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and exceptional service to the Mount Pleasant community.

The CFAI recognized several key areas of the department’s operations, including its plan to increase the number of hazardous materials technicians and its Training Center Capital Plan. The Commission also expressed interest in the department’s automatic-aid model and how the approach was developed.
