On Friday, members of the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department participated in in the Mt Pleasant Community School District safety day. This gave staff hands on experience operating fire extinguishers as well as learning the types of fires that different extinguishers are used for.

Attention area fire departments. The Mount Pleasant Fire Department will be hosting a Firefighter 1 informational meeting August 23rd at 4 PM. This meeting is to discuss the class dates and times that are most convenient for those needing to get their Firefighter 1 certification. This class will be taught in house by certified instructors of the MPFD. Any department is welcome to participate in the class.

We hope everyone is enjoying their 4th of July weekend. This afternoon is the annual 4th of July parade put on by the Mt. Pleasant -Iowa- 4th of July Committee. The parade starts at 5 followed by the Meet your local heros event. MedForce Aeromedical Transport is scheduled to land their helicopter at 7 PM . Pleasae note the changes to parking and location of the bouncy houses. Please do not park in the areas in red.
